So you’ve come to Bangkok to live out your dream of meeting Mr Chow and having a “memorable” night that you will end up not recalling. Don’t worry, Luxxetta is right here with you. There are many great film locations in Thailand but to be honest every one’s dream movie has appeared at various places all around Bangkok in Hangover II, so jump on a Tuk Tuk and discover these spots.
LEBUA State Tower – Sirocco Sky Bar
One of the most spectacular views in the movies was shot at the top of Lebua State Tower Hotel where badass Kingsley appears. If you are ever there, you should try the Hangovertini cocktail or a stay at the “Hangover Suite”, a handsomely spacious three bedroom suite for six.
Many of the outdoor scenes were shot in Chinatown. One of the most memorable scene will be the monkey’s drug dealing intersection where seven streets link to one roundabout. Do take a walk around Chinatown where you will find delicious street food or simply hangout at the Fabric market. The best time to go is night time.
At this colourful stretch of nightlife, the cast enters “Siam Siam’s” bar which is actually Catcus bar while the interior scene was apparently shot at Tilac Bar after closing time.
Soi Cowboy could be too overwhelming if you are not into loud music, sexy looking ladyboys or unable to get over the price of the drinks.
As the boys try to recall what happened the night before, they are led to a temple to mediate. The scene took place in the “World’s largest outdoor museum” Muang Boran Ancient City where you get to see all of Thailand’s architectural monuments. This is of course a much tamer hotspot compared to the Soi Cowboy, Sirocco and Chinatown.
May you find your Bangkok bliss with the Hangover Movie 2 Hotspots.
